I was saddened to hear of John's passing,I worked for him at Heilig-Meyers in the 80's and through the closing. He gave me my first store manager position, straight forward as he always was, he told me, "son,now you have to work hard, I believe in you, don't let me down". I never forgot that, and I tried to make sure that he was always proud of his decision. He will be missed, my heart goes out to the family.
